Microsoft 365 Pricing Update – June
Nobody enjoys price increases, but Microsoft has confirmed Microsoft 365 pricing changes taking effect from end June. These changes will apply to many New Zealand customers as licences renew.
We wanted to share a quick update so you know what is happening and what options are available.
What is changing?
Microsoft is adjusting pricing across parts of the Microsoft 365 range. The impact will depend on:
- Your licence type
- Your current billing arrangement
- Your renewal date
Customers on monthly billing are generally the first to see pricing changes applied when renewals occur.
Microsoft publishes pricing directly but sadly we do not have a link for the NZD amounts yet – you can see their public messaging info here:
If you want price certainty for the next 12 months, Microsoft allows customers to move to an annual commitment with annual payment.
This can:
- Lock in pricing for a full year
- Avoid month‑to‑month increases during that period
-
Make budgeting more predictable for the next 12 months
This is optional and depends on what works best for your business but please contact us if you want to explore or lock that in – it is the cheapest ‘per user’ cost and also locks in the pre-change pricing for 12 months so can be a win-win if the budget is there for an upfront payment in the next 6 weeks.
Additionally, there are some good changes coming in the Business Basic and Business Standard licensing tiers – for example your mailbox size is being increased from 50gb to 100gb and there are some Copilot Chat enhancements at the free tier like inbox and calendar awareness and access to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint agents but the specifics here remain to be assessed after the changes happen.
